Fort Lauderdale Country Club - South Course Notes

West Side Golf Course opened on December 1, 1926 and it was designed by Hebert Charles Tippet and George Richardson Sr.. The West Side Golf Course was a municipal course owned by the City of Fort Lauderdale.

In December 1928, the City of Fort Lauderdale was forced to lease out the West Side Golf Course due to financial reasons, and the course was renamed as the Fort Lauderdale Country Club.

In 1936, the City of Fort Lauderdale ran the Fort Lauderdale Golf and Country Club again.

On December 1, 1951, the Fort Lauderdale Country Club - North Course was opened to keep up with the fast growing city.

In 1957, Fort Lauderdale City commissioners vote to sell the Fort Lauderdale Golf and Country Club to private interests rather than integrate and the Fort Lauderdale Country Club became a private club.

In 1991, Charles Ankrom redesigned the Fort Lauderdale Country Club - South Course.

In 2006, Kipp Schulties designed modifications for Fort Lauderdale Country Club - South Course.
