Notes

The Miami Beach Bath Club decided to open another club called the Indian Creek Club in the roaring 1920s and started construction on Miami Shores Island. Once the dredging and bulkheading was complete, the Indian Creek Club built a clubhouse which opened in 1928. William Flynn and Howard Toomey's firm was hired to design a golf course for the Indian Creek Club. William Flynn drew up the plans and Flynn & Toomey's associates Red Lawrence and Dick Wilson oversaw the construction of the Indian Creek Club golf course. The Indian Creek Country Club golf course opened in 1929 and the Indian Creek Club was beset by financial problems due to the depression, and some accounts show that the golf course was still under construction in the mid 1930s. According to Dick Wilson, the depression came and it caught him while he was working on the Indian Creek Club and stranded him like a beached bass which corroborates these accounts. By 1938, the Indian Creek Country Club was running smoothly, and in 1939 Miami Shores Island was officially called Indian Creek Village.

In 1999, Ron Forse was hired to restore the Indian Creek Country Club's original William Flynn layout.
