Woodmont Country Club - Pines Course Notes
Construction on the Timber Run golf courses began in 1974 led by Simon Zunamon. When the golf courses opened on January 1, 1977, the golf courses were known as the Woodmont Country Club - Cypress and Pines golf courses which were designed by Robert von Hagge and Bruce Devlin.
The Woodmont Country Club - Pines Course, the shorter course, which was to be expanded to championship length shortly after it opened but never was, was closed in 2012.
With a 99-year covenant put in place in 1975 that the land remain a golf course, the City of Tamarac and the current owner have agreed in principal to convert the closed Pines course into a 9-hole course called Woodmont Country Club - Cypress North Course allowing for more residential buildings.
This would turn the Woodmont Country Club into 3 9-hole layouts, with the existing 18-hole Cypress course converted to Cypress East and Cypress West Courses.
