Palumbo's Golf Course opened in May 1953 and was exclusively for African Americans. It was about half the size of what the course would become.
In the late 1950s more land was purchased, and the course's 9 holes were redesigned to fit the extra land.
Over time, the Palumbo's Golf Course was renamed the Dania Country Club.
The Dania Country Club closed in the late 1970s.
