Polo Trace Country Club in the planning stages was 36 holes and 18 holes were built in 1989 and opened in 1990. Polo Trace was designed by Karl Litten and Joey Sindelar and the facility went through a bankruptcy in its infancy.
Around 1996, hole 10 was moved southward to make room for residential lots. Around 2000, hole 11 was moved westward again to make room for residential lots.
Polo Trace has been also known as the Polo Trace Golf & Country Club and The Links at Polo Trace.
