Addison Mizner hired golf architect Donald Ross to lay out an 18-hole golf course in association with the Cloister Inn which opened in 1926. The golf course straddled Camino Real.
In 1928, Clarence Geist hired golf course architects, Howard Toomey and William Flynn, to reconstruct the hotel's golf course into 2 new 18-hole golf courses - the North Course and the South Course.
The North Course is now called the Boca Raton Resort & Club - Resort Course and the South Course is now known as the Royal Palm Yacht & Country Club golf course.
Royal Palm Country Club opened in 1959 and the golf course was redesigned by Robert Trent Jones.
In 2014, Jack Nicklaus redesigned Royal Palm Country Club and it became a Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course.
