The visionary of the Key Colony Golf Course was Finlay Matheson and he hired Mark Mahannah to design the 9 hole, par 33, 2045 yard golf course which opened on January 3, 1960.

Key Colony Golf Course closed shortly after 1976 when the property was sold and at that time the yardage was 2072 yards.

History

Finlay Matheson, the son of Hugh Matheson, developed an exclusive hideaway of cottages on the ocean complete with a 9-hole golf course. The Key Colony Golf Course opened on January 3, 1960 and was designed by Mark Mahannah and had 9 holes with par 33 over 2,045 yards. By 1980, the course was removed for condominiums.
